No one really knows what they’re doing.
That’s always been the case here on Earth, but it’s even more true now.
Why? Because everything is changing faster and faster.
Things are getting shaken up. By “things” I mean EVERYTHING — all systems, including belief systems, and the very way we view/experience reality.
There’s less and less to mentally hold onto.
It’s weird out here. Have you noticed?
Some call it The Quickening. Some call it Hyper-novelty.
Whatever it is, we’re on a wild ride as humans.
So what can you do?
How can you adapt and thrive when everything is uncertain and it feels like you get tossed into the Great Unknown every other day?
Here are some helpful pieces of advice to navigate hyper-novelty.
5 Tips to Thrive When No One Knows WTF They're Doing
1) Experiment
Gone are the days where you can learn a technique, repeat it for the rest of your life, and live comfortably.
The more surface-level the technique, the faster it’s irrelevant.
Instead of applying advice based on blind faith, you need to EXPERIMENT in order to thrive during times of uncertainty.
Of course, it’s helpful to understand the deepest principles of whatever you’re doing, but the tactics become obsolete in the blink of an eye.
Take social media marketing as an example.
If all you do is copy tactical advice you find, you’re going to be perpetually behind the curve. Instead, you need to learn the fundamental principles of marketing, and based on that, run your own experiments.
This is how you find (firsthand) what works and what doesn’t while living in alignment with your truth.
Know one really knows what’s going to work and what won’t, so you might as well experiment.
2) Look for opportunities
Lots of change and unpredictability also means lots of opportunity.
Train your mind to look for opportunities.
This will not only help you be centered and optimistic, but will lead to incredible growth in every area of life.
Instead of letting the mystery of existence scare you, learn to dance with the mystery and find the opportunities it provides.
There are literally opportunities everywhere.
And you never know how close you are to a major positive change in your life. You might be one step away from completely transforming your life. Remember that and keep going.
3) Practice gratitude
Gratitude is THE key.
When in doubt, practice gratitude.
Gratitude is the ultimate transmuter of energy. It can shift negative emotions fast, if you know how to FEEL gratitude.
Gratitude also makes you magnetic and attracts new opportunities into your life. Remember, what you appreciate appreciates.
Here’s what I’ve found to be the best way to practice gratitude:
Sit, close your eyes and take some deep breaths (like you’re meditating)
Place both hands on your heart
Repeat the words “thank you” (internally or out loud)
FEEL gratitude in your heart
When you do this practice, you can focus on being grateful for specific things in your life, or just focus on the feeling of gratitude itself. See what works for you.
Note: I recommend making this a daily practice (or even doing it multiple times per day) for best results. Don’t underestimate the power of gratitude.
4) Align with a higher power
If you cling to temporary things, you’re going to end up in a world of hurt as we navigate these wild times.
If you want to thrive and embrace the mystery of existence, you need to align yourself with The Most High.
Place your faith, not in the fleeting physical world, but that which remains amidst all of the change.
Connect with whatever a higher power means to you. In doing this, you maintain strength and purpose to move forward even when everything seems crazy and uncertain.
“The bad news is you’re falling through the air, nothing to hang on to, no parachute. The good news is, there’s no ground.”

5) Be diligent with mindfulness practices
Mindfulness is the basis of all positive change in life.
Without a mindfulness practice, it’s so easy to slip into stress, fear and other negative feedback loops.
Mindfulness helps you observe the craziness (internally and externally) from a place of calmness and make intentional choices in life.
Here are some mindfulness practices that will help you navigate the unknown:
Meditation (find a style that works for you)
Journaling (try my Mindful Morning Journal)
Walking outside (without listening to anything or talking on your phone)
Breath-work
Exercise (if you exercise without listening to anything, it’s a powerful mindfulness practice)
Those who master their mind will thrive more and more during these changing times. And those who don’t will suffer more and more. The choice is yours.
Be present.
Learn to flow with the stream of your soul.
And have fun.
Lightheartedness is key.
No one really knows what they’re doing — especially as we experience more and more hyper-novelty — so you might as well have some fun.
Dance in the mystery of it all.
With gratitude,
