Last year I helped one of my favorite people create some content…
Tell me that’s not a great alias lol.
No, he doesn’t claim to be Jesus Christ or anything like that. But he is spiritual, and an actual carpenter.
Plus, his style of carpentry is what piqued my interest.
Jesus calls it “Intentional Carpentry.”
Intentional carpentry combines carpentry with mindfulness, emotional intelligence, energy work, feng shui and more.
This caught my attention, because it’s a breath of fresh air.
We’ve all hired contractors who, let’s just say don’t have the best vibes. They’re angry, or depressed, or gossiping, or cursing like sailors all day.
Jesus the Carpenter is the opposite of that. He’s a carpenter who comes into your home with the immaculate vibes of a mindfulness teacher.
That’s why there’s so much opportunity for him.
If I were Jesus the Carpenter, here’s something I would do to grow my brand and build a legacy…
The Big Idea for Jesus
Here’s what I would do (and I’ll probably send this to him too).
If I were Jesus the Carpenter, I would write a series of books about intentional carpentry.
Why? So many reasons.
It would…
Solidify him as an authority
Elevate his brand
Associate his brand with the term “intentional carpentry”
Drive more customers
Help more people
Revolutionize carpentry
Create more streams of income
Those are some big benefits, right?
Now what kind of books would work best for Jesus the Carpenter?
Here are my ideas.
The Big 3 Book Ideas
Book #1
The first book would be something like The Art of Intentional Carpentry (as a tentative title).
It would be THE book that puts the term “intentional carpentry” on the map.
The Art of Intentional Carpentry would be for consumers — anyone interested in the intersection between intentionality and their living environment.
Here are some key topics that might become the chapters:
What is intentional carpentry?
The power of intention
How our environment affects us
Feng shui and carpentry
Vibes don’t lie
People’s homes tell a story
How I (Jesus the Carpenter) approach my work
How I find what clients really need
How you can apply this (even if you’re not a carpenter)
How to determine what work you need done
Examples of my work (as Jesus the Carpenter)
That would be a great book, with the potential to start a whole new trend.
Even if intentional carpentry doesn’t become all the rave in the mainstream, it would still establish Jesus the Carpenter as an expert. That’s invaluable in and of itself.
Book #2
The second book would be more for carpenters than the general public.
Next-Level Carpentry could be the title.
It would educate carpenters, and people who already build stuff, in intentional carpentry.
Here’s what the main topics or chapters might look like:
The problems with traditional carpentry
Why intention is important
Our environment affects us
Intentional carpentry vs regular carpentry
How to apply intentional carpentry
How to establish trust with clients
How to wow your clients with the work you do
Do work so good you get more referrals than you can handle
Case studies
This book would be a bit more niche, since it’s speaking to carpenters and/or people who have existing carpentry skills.
But who knows. Maybe it becomes a book that everyone trying to learn carpentry reads.
This kind of book also establishes Jesus the Carpenter as a leader and trend setter among carpenters. With that, it could lead to partnerships and other B2B (business-to-business) opportunities.
Book #3
This one is different.
Imagine a fiction series about a carpenter.
We could fictionalize the Jesus the Carpenter persona.
He has the power of psychometry (the ability to gain information about things just by touching them).
With this superpower of psychometry, Jesus the Carpenter not only does amazing carpentry work. He also solves mysteries, saves people, and goes on all kinds of superhero adventures.
Kinda cool, right?
Even though it’s fiction, it still directly relates to intentional carpentry. This way, it becomes a unique way of building the Jesus the Carpenter brand.
See What Books Can Do?
Are you seeing the opportunities here?
This isn’t just about intentional carpentry. It’s about the mind-blowing power of books.
Books…
Build authority and expertise like nothing else
Create a legacy
Are THE BEST business cards (think about it)
Are the best resume items
Help you share your soul’s wisdom
Are great revenue streams
Lead people to other offerings you have (other products or services)
Build so many skills at once (writing, healthy habits, focus, attention span, intuition, flow state, self-confidence, self-awareness, etc)
Help people on a deep level
Those are just some of the benefits of books.
And here’s the good news. You don’t have to be the best writer, or have tons of free time, to write a book.
If you’ve ever felt called to write a book, I’ll help you.
I’m hosting a free 3 day online workshop July 18-20.
