The 10 Commandments of Inspired Action
Do you fall into any of these patterns?
Overthinking
Overworking
Forcing things
Chasing shiny objects
Being hard on yourself
Stressing out too much
Pushing yourself to burnout
Putting pressure on yourself
I spent most of my adult life in these patterns.
The last couple years though, I’ve been slowly learning how to take inspired action.
It’s been liberating on such a deep level.
Plus, I get more of the right things done, with less stress and energy drains.
What is Inspired Action?
Inspired action is self-explanatory. It’s taking action from a place of inspiration (as opposed to manic or compulsive action).
To give you context, let’s talk about what most people do.
Most people…
Force themselves into action.
Blind themselves with mindless action, which often leads in the wrong direction.
Stay busy for the sake of staying busy.
Distract themselves and chase shiny objects.
Overthink everything and stress themselves out.
That whole paradigm of manic, compulsive action and constant hustle is EXHAUSTING.
And not only is it exhausting, it’s INEFFECTIVE.
When you’re addicted to action, you compromise clear thinking and blind yourself to possibility.
With manic action, it’s easy to fall into the vicious cycle of fixing one problem just to create another — ultimately spinning your wheels.
Your goal isn’t just to “do” a lot, right? It’s to make progress towards things you find meaningful (keyword: meaningful).
That’s why inspired action is so important.
The 10 Commandments of Inspired Action
Take care of your energy, and your optimal next steps reveal themselves.
If you’re feeling off, take a break.
Make the most of your current responsibilities.
Use play to make work more enjoyable.
Less is more.
Do things because it lights you up on a soul level, not because other people tell you to.
Focus on what you’re doing and where you’re headed. If you over-analyze how to do it, you’ll limit yourself and drain your energy.
Work in flow state. When the flow starts feeling like trudging through mud, take a break and reevaluate.
Don’t avoid challenge. Know the difference between the “hard” that comes with getting out of your comfort zone and the “off” feeling of chasing the wrong things.
Your own intuition and inner wisdom override anything written here.
Find Your Balance
No one can tell you how to take inspired action.
It’s a balance you find yourself, by accessing your inner wisdom and experimenting.
You’ll just know when you do. It feels like getting into a “divine flow” where your next steps are always revealing themselves to you.
It might not be easy. It might challenge you. But when you’re taking inspired action, there will be a “click-into-alignment” feeling.
Inspired action is a flow of intuitive guidance.
Inspired action is a dance of the soul.
Inspired action is the transcendent convergence of Being and Becoming.
Now, one last thing before we wrap this up.
Think about a time when you were in a flow of inspired action.
What did it feel like?
What caused it?
How can you apply this more in your life?
Contemplate what inspired action means to you.
It might be the key to your next level.
Stay inspired,
