I've been in this practice for a few years now. It gets difficult when you grow accustomed to interrupting problems without fear reflexes. Most people are sick in that mode and you cannot break them out.
Offering them options to escape just seems to be smacked away. So don't be surprised if you start to feel a little isolated. It's ok, you're building a better you. Most people don't know how to do that.

Yeah I get that. And that’s why it’s fun to do in subtle ways, because if your responses are extreme or too different it’ll trigger people.
