5 Simple Steps To Hone Your Intuition
Note: Last week, we went into some unique perspectives on intuition. This week, you’ll learn more practical steps to develop intuition.
For some people, intuition can seem really “out there.”
It might bring up images of psychic hotlines, crystal balls and odd rituals.
Here’s a different view…
Intuition is developed in much simpler ways. So simple that we tend to overlook it.
With that said, here are 5 simple steps to build your intuition.
1: Mindfulness
The foundation of intuition is as simple as it gets: Mindfulness.
The reason is pretty straightforward. In order to be aware of your intuition, you first need to be aware of your thoughts and emotions.
We’re all always receiving intuitive messages. The more mindful you are, the more of these intuitive messages you will perceive.
Mindfulness also helps you declutter the noise of the monkey mind. And what happens when you remove the noise? The signal comes through clear.
Remember, you don’t build your intuition by chasing inter-dimensional unicorns. You build your intuition by being mindful of your thoughts and emotions.
2: Life Force Energy Awareness
The next level of deeper mindfulness and intuition comes through life force energy awareness.
When you practice being aware of the life force in your body, intuition emerges even more.
This state of “life force awareness” is the interface between your body, mind and soul. In this state, your intuition comes through even sharper and clearer.
Don’t get caught up in chasing mental concepts, thinking that’s going to lead to intuition.
Instead, ground into your body. Feel and sense your life force energy. This is how your intuition blossoms.
Remember, the stronger the roots, the taller the tree. Reach for the stars by building a solid foundation.
3: Spontaneous Creative Expression
Intuition strengthens with expression.
What’s particularly helpful here is spontaneous, creative expression. This could be writing, painting, drawing, dancing, speaking, singing, playing instruments, freestyle rapping, etc.
Spontaneity is key, because you don’t get caught up in the over-analysis of the mind.
Any kind of spontaneous creative expression is essentially channeling your intuition. It’s an intuitive flow.
You can enhance this intuitive flow by practicing mindfulness and life force awareness. For example, you can close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, feel the life force in your body, then journal. When you journal this way, you’ll tune deeper into your intuition.
The more you practice spontaneous creative expression, the more you’ll commune with your intuition.
4: Trust
Intuition is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets.
When you trust your intuition, then it gets validated (which will happen), you gain confidence. This inspires you to practice more.
Practice trusting your intuition with little things at first, like spontaneous creative expression.
Another example would be if something pops into your mind to say to someone, that you feel is helpful (and for their highest good), say it to them. It might be exactly what they needed to hear.
Practice trusting your intuition. The more you do this, the stronger it gets.
5: Space
The last step here is to create space in your daily life.
Creating space means having time for solitude and introspection. This could be meditation, journaling, long walks outside, being in nature, self care, etc.
There’s a reason why every great artist, inventor, philosopher and spiritual teacher (anyone who shared profound insights with the world) practiced solitude on a regular basis.
Some examples:
Nikola Tesla walked up to 10 miles every day.
Elmer Gates (a little-known inventor with 43 patents to his name) would “sit for ideas” in a pitch black room for hours on end.
Albert Einstein would go sailing and just sit in the middle of Lake Cuomo, daydreaming.
Charles Dickens took three-hour long walks every afternoon.
All of these are “space-creating” practices. They create the physical, emotional and mental space to commune with your intuition.
Creating space spirals us back to mindfulness. So the fifth step leads back to the first in a positive feedback loop.
The 5 Steps Summarized
Remember, even though you might receive some high-level intuitive messages, intuition is developed with simple practices.
Here are the 5 steps again:
Mindfulness
Life force energy awareness
Spontaneous creative expression
Trust
Space
Practice these on a daily basis and you will create a positive feedback loop of stronger and stronger intuition.
We’re all intuitive, and we’re always receiving intuitive messages.
You have the opportunity to develop this suite of metaphysical senses to be a leader of humanity’s evolution.
Thank you for reading.
